Fitness Classes

Real Fitness runs a range of specific exercise and fitness classes in Bristol.

Each Wednesday evening, based at St. Martin’s Church in Knowle, Real Fitness run a trio of important fitness classes that anyone can join. First we run a children’s box-it, a no contact form of the sport, then we hold circuit training exercises followed, finally, expert advice on dietary needs in our weight control class.

Circuit Training

Quick paced and constantly switching exercises, Circuit Training is a real shock to the body. This 45 minute session will hit all of your muscle groups and will give you an effective, full body workout.
Circuit Training is a respected form of body conditioning, also known as resistance training featuring high-intensity aerobics. It gets its name from participants completing one go at every exercise within the time, thus forming a full circuit.
Each circuit contains exercises designed to work the upper body, core & trunk, lower body, and total body. These include exercises such as sit ups, push ups, bench dips and lifts, medicine ball chest passes, stomach crunches, squat jumps, shuttle runs, bench squats, burpees, treadmills, skipping, jogging, astride jumps, compass jumps and more.
Developed at Leeds University, further studies have shown Circuit Training to be the most effective means of improving cardiovascular fitness and muscle endurance. At Real Fitness, we take you through each of the exercises, and make sure you tackle them at the pace equal to your fitness level and goals.

Weight Control

At Real Fitness, weight control is not just about losing weight, it’s also about putting it on. Whether losing or gaining, weight control is not easy for everyone and can be tough both physically and mentally.
With us, weight control is about resetting thought patterns as much as it is about dietary changes and fitness regimes. Our staff have experienced the struggles of being underweight and trying to gain some, and being overweight and trying to lose it.
The aim of our weight control classes is to help those who are struggling to change their mindset and develop healthy but still tasty dishes which will enhance a fit and healthy body, while delivering the nutritional needs your body requires to reach your goals whether it is to lose weight, gain muscle, become fitter or be better attuned to your chosen sport.

Junior Box-it

Junior box-it is a gym-based boxing style designed to help kids enjoy exercise and build both their fitness and their core skills.
This style of boxing is non-contact, so there are no dangers of kids doing damage to each other. Instead it focusses on the core boxing techniques employed by the world’s finest, from fitness, to hand-eye coordination, footwork and more. If your child is thinking of taking up full boxing in the future or just wants to stand tall while improving their skills, heart, lungs and muscles, then Junior Box-it is a great way to start.
When? Wednesday Evenings, 6:30 to 7:15pm
